Kayaking on the Isle of Wight. Do you want to have fun paddling under cliffs, visiting caves and sheltered bays? Maybe, if you choose to, surfing ocean waves or riding the swells through the gaps in the cliff walls. The aim of these two hour activities is a fun and safe introduction to kayaking in a stunning location, with family, friends or meeting new people who have a similar interest. You will be safe in the hands of the most highly skilled, experienced and well qualified kayaking guides on the Isle of Wight. You literally can’t get kayaking on the Isle of Wight like this anywhere else!
We have two kayaking bases on the Isle of Wight, one in Freshwater in the West and one in Bembridge in the East – both offer superb kayaking in their own different ways. If you are after a shorter activity in calm waters with stunning wooded coves and playing lots of games suitable for the whole family then visit us in Bembridge, if you are after a more adventurous experience where you may surf waves or visit caves then come to see us in Freshwater.
For your Kayaking Adventure, you will meet us at our base at Afton Park which is a short walk (7 mins) from Freshwater Bay. Our guides will greet you, explain what is going to happen and then get you kitted out for the 2 hr adventure.
You will be given a wetsuit, bouyancy aid, helmet and then a quick walk to the boats will see you on the water.
The kayak adventures are aimed at those who have never paddled a kayak before or for family groups who want to stay together.
You will spend your time on the water doing whatever the conditions permit; it may be surfing in the bay or off around to the caves that are just outside the bay.
Whatever you do it will be an adventure in a stunning location, with great equipment and extremely competent, and highly qualified guides who are there to ensure that you are both safe and having fun.
You will use our top of the range Perception Scooter Sit-on-Top Kayaks and you will have the choice of a solo boat or a tandem craft.
Your guide will offer you top tips and handy hints to improve your skills along the way, but the emphasis is on enjoying your time out on the water in an awesome environment traveling to places only accessible by kayak or having fun in the surf.
