Our team is a group of highly qualified and experienced outdoor enthusiasts who spend all their spare time outside taking part in outdoor adventure activities. We travel all over the world and coach to the highest levels, our team are brought into other centres to train staff, they have lots of different high level qualifications – but above all we love what we do, and we want to show you why!
Has spent many years working in and managing outdoor centres across the UK and further afield. Owen is a coach and leader assessor trainer. He is chair of the BCU’s advisory group for Sit on Top kayaks and SUPs. He works as an outdoor centre inspector and as a water based technical advisor for many centres across the UK and Europe. He is the DofE centre coordinator, the AAP expedition manager and a gold assessor.
Carla spent a few years after leaving school working in a few different offices on the IOW, but soon felt the need to visit some new places; she has spent the last 5 years travelling and living in Australia and New Zealand, running offices in the travel industry. She has returned to the Island and is now our general manager. She is a qualified DofE leader and holds a 16hr Outdoor First Aid Certificate.
Works at weekends and school holidays in the booking office. She has grown up with outdoor sports and with kayaking. She will be there to answer the phone to you and meet you at reception to help you book onto all the different activities.

Is our lead Instructor in charge of all the activities that we run. He is a qualified DofE leader and expedition supervisor, and as well as holding a whole host of outdoor qualifications he has loads of experience and bits of paper for running gym and athletic training sessions.
Is a DofE leader, supervisor and nearly an expedition assessor, he is a qualified PE teacher, Mountain Leader and Sea Kayak Leader and is a REC First Aid Trainer. He splits his time teaching in a PRU, working with us and having outdoor adventures with his young family.
Archie is a qualified teacher, DofE leader, Mountain Leader, L3 sea kayak coach, DofE Gold assessor. He is also our Internal Facilitator for the IOL Registered Practitioner programme.
Nicky works with us as an Instructor and in the booking centre during the Uni Holidays where she is studying Outdoor Education Management.
Activity Assistants and Apprentices
Is hardcore and has been dubbed the crash test dummy! He has jumped the biggest jumps and gone out in the biggest surf and keeps coming back for more! Dan helps us keep the kit and stores organised. When its big and going off he is one of those people you want around!
Emily has taken on the Instructor Apprentice role for 2013 – she has experience in all our activities and is keen to develop her skills and experience in all of them. She is pretty slick in a power boat with a qualifications to support and rescue other craft.
