We have two options for school students. A 1 day (8hr) Rescue Emergency Care HSE approved certificate and a 3hr first aid awareness course that covers emergency action, EAV and CPR. Take a look at this page for more details

Rescue Emergency Care Level 1

A one day course (8 hour). The basic first aid course is designed to introduce a systematic way of first aid for managing casualties. Topic learning and practicals intermixed with scenarios of real situations.

The Content:

  • The fundamental workings of the body, in particular the heart, lungs and airway
  • Recognising the difference between the healthy, ill or injured
  • Ability to record the baseline measurements of the vital body functions
  • Introduces a system to cope with all incidents as safely as possible
  • Deciding how to deal with an accident or incident

First Aid Awareness course

A 3 hour course. The basic first aid awareness course is designed to introduce a systematic way of dealing with first aid incidents and common injuries.

The Content:

  • The fundamental workings of the body, in particular the heart, lungs and airway
  • Recognising the difference between the healthy, ill or injured
  • Introduces a system to cope with all incidents as safely as possible
  • Confidently and competently perform EAV and CPR
We run the REC Level 1 as a one day course or split over up to 3 lessons designed to fit in with the school timetable. We can run up to 2 of the awareness courses in a day.
