Why Adventure Activities Isle of Wight:

The Isle of Wight’s stunning scenery and wealth of Adventure Activities are within easy reach of the major towns and cities of Bournemouth, Southampton and Portsmouth. The Isle of Wight is only 2 hours from London, and 3 hours from Exeter and Bristol.

Adventure Activities Isle of Wight run coasteering, kayaking and paddleboarding from the best locations around the Island.

Why Adventure Activities Isle of Wight for Coasteering:

Adventure Activities UK are the South Coast’s ‘real adventure’ specialists; the team originally brought Coasteering to the South Coast many years ago and were the first to run coasteering adventures in Dorset. The Adventure Activities UK act as technical advisors for other providers in the region and have set the standard that the others are working hard to catch up with. They are also the only team to run coasteering in both of the South East’s coasteering venues of Dorset and the Isle of Wight.

Adventure Activities Isle of Wight run coasteering from Freshwater Bay on the Western side of the Isle of Wight.

Why Adventure Activities Isle of Wight for Kayaking:

There are very few outdoor centres in the South that have kayaking staff that have not been trained by one of the Adventure Activities UK team. Our team have led the development of the use of Sit-on-Top kayaks across the UK for a long time. Its no exaggeration to say that the team are the UK leaders and specialists in the use of SOT kayaks in the coastal environment. One of our team members is the chair of the ‘British Canoe Union’ technical committee that advises the canoeing governing body on the use and development of Sit-on-Top kayaks.

We are the only provider of the WSA (Water Skills Academy) SOT Kayak Coastal Leader Award in the South, in fact one of our team developed the award, wrote the syllabus and is the award’s assessor trainer, responsible for training other deliverers.

Our strategies, safety advice and leadership methods have guided how the other providers in the UK operate with Sit-on-Top Kayaks on the Sea.

Why Adventure Activities Isle of Wight for Paddleboarding:

Adventure Activities UK are the only WSA (Water Skills Academy) approved centre on the Island and the only Paddleboard Instructor Training centre.

One of our team has been in charge of developing the British Canoe Union stand-up-paddleboarding award and has been very closely involved in the WSA Instructor, Coach and Leadership awards for SUP. He was an advisor to the HSE Activities Licensing Service when they put together their guidelines on how centres run paddleboarding.

Without doubt, within our team are among the most experienced SUP coaches in the UK. We bring this experience to Paddleboarding on the Isle of Wight.

What about Adventure Activities UK and what do they do:

Adventure Activities Isle of Wight is a branch of Adventure Activities UK, who also run Adventure Activities in Sussex, Essex and Dorset – and Adventure Camps and Adventure Expeditions across the the whole of the UK.

We run the Adventure Academy for training new instructors, and for providing qualifications for instructors already working in the outdoor world. Our team have led the development and been involved in many outdoor awards that are in common use in the UK and so are very well placed to offer the best training and guidance.

Our senior team incorporates some of the most experienced providers and instructors in the industry, with senior coach trainers, outdoor centre safety inspectors, experienced qualified teachers, sports scientists and psychologists. We provide training and technical advice to many other outdoor centres, local authorities and organisations working in the outdoors. We bring this passion and expertise to everything we do.
